In this podcast, we will discuss the problems of researchers in the field of academia. Why is there a lack of female researchers in Pakistan? What are barriers for funding research?
Meet our guest, Noorulain, who is a researcher and academic, working on forced migrations, violence and identity politics. She is a graduate from NDU, Peace and Conflict Studies department. She has around five years of association with policy recommendation and educational institutes, and currently teaches at a NUML, Islamabad. Noor has also authored a book “How to Survive your 20s” which is a coming-of-age satire and addresses youth related challenges, this and a collection of her travelogues about travels to Alpine regions of Pakistan by the name “For the love of Mountains” have been published by Daastan in 2020.

We also discussed the refugee crisis in Pakistan and her initiative- Voice of Now, a platform for collecting inspiring stories from refugees, who emerged from the crisis and rebuilt their lives.
